Tyrone Marhguy has been awarded a full scholarship to attend the University of Pennsylvania.

Achimota Secondary School alumnus Tyrone Iras Marhguy, who fought to wear dreadlocks to school and made national headlines for it, has received a full scholarship to study computer engineering at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania in the United States.

Marhguy, who passed the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) with a perfect score of eight A's, received offers from four prestigious universities overseas, totaling a substantial $1.4 million to pay for his education over the next four years.
Marhguy expressed his gratitude and contemplated his journey in a sincere Facebook post. His journey began with a legal battle against Achimota School for denying him admission due to his dreadlocks.
His victory in that case paved the way for education policies that were more inclusive and motivated many others to fight discrimination.

Marhguy acknowledged Child Rights International, Ghana, and his legal team's unwavering support for him and his family.

He expressed his sincere gratitude to them for their unwavering support of his cause and advocacy.
