James Rodríguez has signed with Rayo Vallecano in Spain.

Previous Genuine Madrid and Everton playmaker James Rodriguez has joined La Liga club Rayo Vallecano as a free specialist.

The Colombian, 33, has been without a club since leaving Brazilian side Sao Paulo this late spring.

After providing six assists during Colombia's run to the Copa America final, where they were defeated by Argentina, he was named player of the tournament.

After beginning the season with a win and a draw, Rayo Vallecano are eighth in La Liga. Last year, they finished 17th.

Rodriguez signed with Real Madrid later that summer after winning the Golden Boot at the 2014 World Cup.

He played 125 games for the Spanish champions before joining Bayern Munich on loan for two years. He then, at that point, joined Everton in 2020.

He played multiple times for the Toffees yet left a year into a two-year bargain in a transition to Qatari club Al Rayyan. He joined Olympiakos a year after the fact prior to moving to Sao Paulo in 2023.
